A list of books by Marshall Govindan
Friends, a new video has been released on our channels: A Meeting of Masters. Marshall Govindan & Imram. Many have asked:
“What were the books shown at the beginning of the video? Are they available free of charge?”
Below is the list of books mentioned by Marshall Govindan during the conversation. All of them are dedicated to Kriya Yoga, spiritual practice, the great Masters of Yoga, and the Siddha tradition. The first book on the list is available only in European languages, while the others are also published in Russian.
• The Yoga of Siddha Tirumular (available in European languages)
• M. Govindan — Babaji and the 18 Siddha Kriya Yoga Tradition
• M. Govindan — Kriya Yoga Sutras of Patanjali and the Siddhas
• M. Govindan, Y. Alund — Kriya Yoga: Insights Along the Path
• V. T. Neelakantan, S. A. A. Ramaiah, and Babaji Nagaraj — The Voice of Babaji: A Trilogy on Kriya Yoga
Some of these titles are available online in electronic format, while printed editions may be purchased in bookshops or through marketplaces.
Marshall Govindan is one of the most respected and influential figures in the contemporary world of Kriya Yoga — known not only as a devoted practitioner of Kriya Yoga, but also as the author of numerous books on yoga, as well as a scholar and teacher.
These books provide, you might say, a roadmap. They do not give initiation into techniques. Initiation is only in person. This is the siddha tradition. Initiation is like someone giving you a powerful automobile. You can go anywhere in it. But if you don’t have a roadmap, you’re lost. So it’s very important that you also receive the teachings that give you guidance about the obstacles and the objectives of practising.
