A retreat is an intense mind-transforming practice.
It is your starting point for profound inner changes.

When people come to Master, they come for energy, for spiritual power, and Master transmits this spiritual power.
As Master and disciple work together, the disciple receives inspiration and the High Power.

Method of direct knowledge transfer

When people come to Master, they come for energy, for spiritual power, and Master transmits this spiritual power. While working together at a Retreat, during direct communication, a person unfailingly receives this Inspiration and Goodness. And with this power, the person returns and practises, in order to awaken their Consciousness and rise above everything.

Master who practises Kriya with a group directly transmits spiritual power, based on his personal Experience. Therein lies the tradition – the transfer of this power, it is foundational. During the Retreats, a lot of interesting events take place.

A large number of people can receive these currents, these energies that transform them – it’s a transforming flame or a powerful energisation that changes the energo-informational field of the disciples.

During the practice at the Retreat, everyone listens to Master, writes down the techniques and practises them. It is important to understand that all the serious work takes place internally and changes the external. This is the direct transfer.

The method of direct knowledge transfer from heart to heart, from Master to disciple…

Retreats are necessary to assimilate the energy and accept the knowledge that a person received during the first initiation at the Seminar. The direct transfer method is a powerful way for students to evolve quickly.

The 2-day Retreat provides an opportunity to

Movie about the Retreat

Your level of preparation is not important. The Science of Kriya transforms the body and makes you more prepared. If we say that a person has to be prepared, then this knowledge is not universally applicable. Preparation is needed when you take an exam. But now, we practise and awaken the will by working on ourselves.

The Science of Kriya is not a teaching about the body like hatha yoga, there is no emphasis on sitting cross-legged, in the lotus or half-lotus position. Here, it is very important that your spine is straight, and during the practice at the Retreat, you can even sit on a chair or a small ottoman, which will allow you to keep your spine straight. This would be enough. Remember that all realisation takes place in the spine, the brain and the spinal cord. It does not happen in the legs or arms.

What does a day at the Retreat look like?

Retreats are held in places where there is more energy, so you can absorb it and transform yourself within a week or two, depending on the cycles and the set tasks.

mini_retreat_sqr2

Every day at the Retreat, you practise with the group under Master’s guidance. Our day begins with a long morning practice – two and a half hours, and there is a second session with Master after lunch – lasting 2 hours. In the evening, after supper, we gather together for Satsang.

Satsang is a unique opportunity for the group to meet with Master, ask questions that concern them; talk and communicate together, since a lot of questions arise during practice that you can perfect here at the Retreat.

During Satsang, the practitioner receives not only knowledge and food for thought, but also comes into contact with Master’s energies, with his radiation, which in turn accelerates evolution.

If you have a question – you can live through it... on a Retreat, having received personal experience…

When you ask a question and get an answer from the Master, you live through it, you gain personal experience under control and guidance. This opportunity to advance yourself is only available at the Retreat.

Interview of Master about the Retreat

Retreat_slide2__

The effort required during the Retreat

When a person arrives at a Retreat and begins to practise, they gather all of their power, invest this energy, information and assimilate it intensely, thus raising their consciousness. It is a powerful form of awakening, but it also requires work. Master helps at this point. One should get used to this workload, because it is self-development.

The effort is a greater influx of life force. Our nerve endings do not always agree with this, and then it feels like our body hurts, ‘aches’ during practice, but in reality, it is the energy and we assimilate it.

Energy is absorbed while practising the 42 energisation exercises that allow us to open our nerve endings and teach the cells to be aware of their highest nature, and then the energy is absorbed even more. There is a great power in our cells, and this power, gradually awakening, begins to realise its True Nature.

The method of accelerated evolution

Kriya yoga is a tool that allows a person to accelerate their evolution. Through Kriya practice, intuition is effortlessly awakened, and you can gaze into the face of your Higher Self.

mini_retreat_sqr3

Kriya yoga teaches us how, by controlling the breath, you can calm the mind and achieve higher states of consciousness.

In Kriya practice, by energising each cell and the special centres, focusing on the medulla oblongata, we awaken the neurons and regions of our brain. We are then able to accept and absorb more energy-information and higher knowledge beyond ordinary understanding.

Over time, as we learn to feel the very subtle channels inside the spine, the disciple shall approach the High Kriya Techniques.

10 minutes of Kriya practice is equivalent to 20 years of natural human evolution....

During the Highest Kriya practice: one conscious breath is one year of evolution, which corresponds to our solar system’s cosmic cycle of rotation, with its planetary consciousness.

Six stages of self-realisation

During the Retreat, we intensively practice the six stages of Kriya that a person received at the Seminar. See Kriya Seminar

The first three stages are associated with energisation of the body. These are 42 energisation exercises, sitting energisation practice, meditation on the breath, meditation on the Sound and meditation on the Light .

42 Kriyas

One of the Mini-Retreat practices focuses on practising and ensuring the correct performance of 42 energising exercises. We learn to dive into deeper meditative states and get used to the exertion.

We know that the 42 Kriyas effectively build interhemispheric connections, awaken neural networks and stimulate the brain, which relies on consciousness, and the consciousness present in the brain.

By channelling energy to different parts of the body, we bring to the surface the negative programs that were introduced (implemented) from birth, many years ago, and as scientists in our own “laboratory of body and mind,” we can transform negative programs and obtain positive experiences by opening our creative centres. See 42 Kriyas

Advanced techniques

We practice the advanced Kriya techniques in detail during the Retreat: 14 Kriya breaths, Maha-Mudra, Guru-Pranam and Jyoti-mudra, which are transmitted by Master exclusively at the Kriya Initiation Seminar.

mini_retreat_sqr4

In his book, “The Essence of Kriya yoga”, Paramahansa Yogananda writes that “the time of human development can be shortened by making the life force (the physical energy of Earth) spin in the spine and its six centres along an elliptical path, up from the base of the spine to the point between the eyebrows, and then down again from this point to the base of the spine, with the soul as the central sun.”

The advanced techniques gradually prepare a person for the super techniques, whereas the Kriya super technique is a single breath that takes thirty seconds of your time but is equal to one year of your evolution.

Consider what you can accomplish in terms of spiritual development in twenty years! Only 10 minutes of conscious practice of the Kriya super technique can result in 20 years of evolution.

Super technique of Kriya yoga

At the Initiation into the seventh stage of Kriya, from the moment of mastering it (let’s say within a year), a person lives through one year of conscious evolution with one breath in and one breath out.

It means that in one conscious inhale, which passes through the special spinal centres (chakras), your consciousness rises to a high level or dimension, to a very high level of your being, and you live through one year of evolution in one inhale and exhale.

What is one year of evolution?

Imagine that you are engaged in spiritual practice, practising every day from morning till night, reading spiritual literature and communicating with Masters. You can achieve a lot in one year.

The same result is possible in Kriya, from mastering the super technique of Kriya in one breath — and it only takes half a minute of your time.

50 minutes of Prana-karma Kriya practice is equivalent to one hundred years of spiritual evolution.

Through years of Sadhana practice, Imram achieved Realisation, i. e. Unity with the Higher Self, which is called Nirvikalpa Samadhi in yoga.

Master Imram inspires hundreds of thousands of people with his experience and wise instructions, helping them to understand the purpose of life and find joy and harmony.

Frequently asked questions

What is Kriya yoga?

Most people think that a yogi is a person who has developed his body’s abilities to an amazing degree: he can lie on nails, walk through fire or sit in the lotus position… Yet the main thing in yoga is the spiritual aspect. The Principle of Unity!

Therefore, it is important to first correct people’s misconception of yoga.

Yoga is the direct Path to the HIgher. I declare this with full awareness and understanding of responsibility. Yoga is a reunion with the Supreme! It is the most direct and shortest way to self-realisation. Yoga is not a religion. It is a science in which the Ultimate Knowledge, from which various systems and directions have emerged, is revealed.

Kriya yoga is a tool that allows a person to accelerate their evolution. Kriya is the ultimate method of comprehending the Law of the Universe, where the true answer comes from the depths of the inner Self. The eternal and invariable Law of the Universe is expressed as Truth, Righteousness, Unconditional Love, Peace and Calm, and Non-violence. The Science of Kriya is this Universal Law in action.

Through this practice, intuition is effortlessly awakened, and you can gaze into the face of your Higher Self.

Kriya yoga teaches us how to control the breathing, calm the mind and achieve higher states of consciousness.

Fifty minutes of Kriya practice is equivalent to one hundred years of natural human evolution…

What is meditation?

Meditation is a state beyond the mind, the personality and the ego. It is a state that allows us to get to know ourselves first, become friends with ourselves, and reach higher levels of self-awareness.

Meditation is a state when you are very close to the Creator, the Supreme. But there is a distance between you and the Higher Self to which you aspire.

An analogy with fire can serve as an example. Meditation is when you are sitting around a fire, but you cannot get close to it because you are not yet ready. You enjoy the warmth and love of this divine radiance, you feel warm, happy and comfortable, you are close to it and have the opportunity to enjoy it.

Enjoying and rejoicing in it is meditation. Moreover, the Creator’s radiance constantly gives you what you so desperately need. In the case of fire, it is warmth, in the case of divinity, it is unconditional love, strength, wisdom, peace and everything that comes with it. This is perfection, this is magic… And it changes you.

Can I practise Kriya if I don't know anything about yoga?

Any person who knows nothing about Kriya but truly wants to practise, wants to do something for their life, for themselves and others, can safely start practising.

Your level of preparation is not important. The Science of Kriya transforms the body and makes you more prepared. If we say that a person needs to be prepared, then this knowledge is not universally applicable. Preparation is needed when you take an exam. Right now, we practise and awaken our willpower by working on ourselves.

The Science of Kriya doesn’t teach about the body like Hatha yoga, there is no emphasis on sitting cross-legged, in the lotus or half-lotus position.

Here, it is very important that your spine is straight, and during the Retreat, you can even sit on a chair or a small ottoman, which will allow you to keep your spine straight. This is enough. Remember that all realisation takes place in the spine, the brain and the spinal cord. It does not happen in the legs or arms.

Can older people practise Kriya?

No matter how old you are, even if you are eighty or a hundred years old, if you start practising Kriya and address the High in Spirit with a request for realisation, you will be given additional years to fulfil the realisation. From the moment a person steps on the Path, a space of time opens up for achieving the High Goal, so this person will grow stronger and be able to carry out their plans!

For me, Kriya is Cosmic knowledge, it is the manifestation of the Creator in knowledge, so even if you come to this  for the first time at the age of 80, you will reach realisation much faster.

I had an 85-year-old grandfather at a Seminar in Perm, who was much more active than everyone else in the hall. He came up to me during the break and asked: “Does an old man like me have the ability to achieve liberation? “Of course there is, don’t even doubt it,” I replied to him.

There’s a law: everything you encounter in this life is meant for you. So do not doubt. Simply start working on yourself.

Master Imram

What is the Imram Kriya Seminar?

Seminar is a fairly social term. In reality, the Kriya Seminar is initiation into the Science of Kriya yoga.

At the two-day Kriya Seminar, you gain knowledge and food for thought. But the most important thing is that a person receives true knowledge passed from one heart to another, from the Master to the student.

This is the method of direct knowledge transfer…

When you attend a Kriya Seminar, you may be completely unprepared, not ready to sit, not ready internally. You attend to prepare and accelerate your evolution. Evolution accelerates many hundreds of thousands times faster only thanks to this great and high teaching. Naturally, your body changes as well. It changes when you practise. The criterion of truth is practice.

Kriya is the base, the foundation and the crown of all spiritual practices!

What is Initiation?

Spiritual power and spiritual knowledge are transmitted at the Seminar and the Retreat. The Seminar is the first basic initiation. This initiation is like embracing a spiritual power, embracing love and the powerful creative potential of Inspiration!

The cornerstone of the Kriya teaching is the direct transmission of true knowledge and Experience, through the transcendental transmission of Consciousness from the Master to everyone who comes to the Seminar. The person then continues to develop, while the Master helps.

Can I attend the Retreat with my family?

Imram Kriya Retreat is a wonderful opportunity for the whole family to come to a very beautiful and cozy place, to relax and to be together.

Our Retreats are visited by a huge number of families, we welcome arrival with spouses and children. The positive and joyful atmosphere at the Retreat has a favourable effect on all family members and is remembered for many years to come as the most unforgettable trip for the whole family.

Clothes for practising yoga

When people come to the Retreat, we recommend wearing light-coloured or white clothing, because white colour represents white light. Colour is very important because it affects people’s minds. White colour unites all colours, and white is something consciousness perceives as a symbol, not only by the individual, but also by others as a spiritual colour.

If you do not have any white clothing, other light colours will do, but nothing sad or mournful like black. There is actually no black in nature. Black is an artificial colour. By and large, even coal, which is thought to be black in colour, isn’t black. If you look closely, there is a lot of reflection, that is, the reflection of light. Clothing should be loose, comfortable and not constrain your movements.

Food

If you are a sufficiently aware person and possess a deep understanding, if you can talk about the Science of Kriya, you have enough energy and enough knowledge not to do things that harm your body. This means eating right. You may think it is difficult for you to give up eating meat and smoking cigarettes. By the way, smoking is also eating, but of a slightly differen nature.

If it is difficult for you, start practising Kriya and the practice itself will help you. If a person wants to understand their own world, their inner world, they gradually become a vegetarian.

Your first book about Kriya yoga

We recommend that you start by reading Paramahansa Yogananda’s Autobiography of a yogi. Paramahansa Yogananda, the great Indian yogi and educator, who brought Kriya to America and Europe, wrote in Chapter 26 ‘The Science of Kriya yoga’:

“Kriya yoga is a simple, psychophysiological method by which the human blood is decarbonized and recharged with oxygen. The atoms of this extra oxygen are transmuted into life current to rejuvenate the brain and spinal centers. By stopping the accumulation of venous blood, the yogi is able to lessen or prevent the decay of tissues”

“Kriya yoga is an instrument through which human evolution can be quickened,” Sri Yukteswar explained to his students. “The ancient yogis discovered that the secret of cosmic consciousness is intimately linked with breath mastery. This is India’s unique and deathless contribution to the world’s treasury of knowledge. The life force, which is ordinarily absorbed in maintaining the heart-pump, must be freed for higher activities by a method of calming and stilling the ceaseless demands of the breath.”

The Kriya yogi mentally directs his life energy to revolve, upward and downward, around the six spinal centers (medullary, cervical, dorsal, lumbar, sacral, and coccygeal plexuses) which correspond to the twelve astral signs of the zodiac, the symbolic Cosmic Man. One-half minute of revolution of energy around the sensitive spinal cord of man effects subtle progress in his evolution; that half-minute of Kriya equals one year of natural spiritual unfoldment.

The astral system of a human being, with six (twelve by polarity) inner constellations revolving around the sun of the omniscient spiritual eye, is interrelated with the physical sun and the twelve zodiacal signs. All men are thus affected by an inner and an outer universe. The ancient rishis discovered that man’s earthly and heavenly environment, in twelve-year cycles, push him forward on his natural path. The scriptures aver that man requires a million years of normal, diseaseless evolution to perfect his human brain sufficiently to express cosmic consciousness.

One thousand Kriya practiced in eight hours gives the yogi, in one day, the equivalent of one thousand years of natural evolution: 365,000 years of evolution in one year. In three years, a Kriya yogi can thus accomplish by intelligent self-effort the same result which nature brings to pass in a million years. The Kriya short cut, of course, can be taken only by deeply developed yogis. With the guidance of a guru, such yogis have carefully prepared their bodies and brains to receive the power created by intensive practice.
The Kriya beginner employs his yogic exercise only fourteen to twenty-eight times, twice daily. A number of yogis achieve emancipation in six or twelve or twenty-four or forty-eight years.

The body of the average man is like a fifty-watt lamp, which cannot accommodate the billion watts of power roused by an excessive practice of Kriya. Through gradual and regular increase of the simple and “foolproof” methods of Kriya, man’s body becomes astrally transformed day by day, and is finally fitted to express the infinite potentials of cosmic energy the first materially active expression of Spirit.

Kriya yoga has nothing in common with the unscientific breathing exercises taught by a number of misguided zealots. Their attempts to forcibly hold breath in the lungs is not only unnatural but decidedly unpleasant. Kriya, on the other hand, is accompanied from the very beginning by an accession of peace, and by soothing sensations of regenerative effect in the spine.
The ancient yogic technique converts the breath into mind. By spiritual advancement, one is able to cognize the breath as an act of minda dream-breath.

Many illustrations could be given of the mathematical relationship between man’s respiratory rate and the variations in his states of consciousness. A person whose attention is wholly engrossed, as in following some closely knit intellectual argument, or in attempting some delicate or difficult physical feat, automatically breathes very slowly. Fixity of attention depends on slow breathing; quick or uneven breaths are an inevitable accompaniment of harmful emotional states: fear, lust, anger. The restless monkey breathes at the rate of 32 times a minute, in contrast to man’s average of 18 times. The elephant, tortoise, snake and other animals noted for their longevity have a respiratory rate which is less than man’s. The tortoise, for instance, who may attain the age of 300 years, breathes only 4 times per minute.”

Hello! My wife and I attended a mini-retreat located in the Moscow Region. It is called a mini-retreat for its duration, but the value we received during this brief period of time was tremendous. Not only could we attain new levels of self-knowledge, but also gained knowledge about the world as a whole. One thing we can say for sure is that this knowledge is priceless. The atmosphere at the mini-retreat was incredibly special. We could ask Master Imram and Khadija questions that they would answer right away. We can hardly find right words to describe our feelings. One must experience it to understand. We would like to thank all the event organisers, Master Imram, and Khadija.
