Key Kriya Techniques: How They Work with the Subtle Bodies

Kriya is a holistic psychophysical method that works simultaneously on all levels: physical, etheric, astral, mental, and spiritual. By performing one conscious action, the practitioner touches all levels of consciousness at once.

42 Energizing Kriyas – This set of exercises purifies the etheric field and prepares the body‑temple to receive high‑frequency spiritual energy.

Kriya Pranayama – A method of breathing and scientific concentration that circulates vital life energy (prana) up and down the spine.

Kriya Nidra – Works directly with the subconscious, magnetises the physical and subtle bodies, triggering restoration processes and the transformation of consciousness.

Khechari Mudra – Shifts attention to the inner source, preventing energy from dissipating through the lower centers.

Amrit Kriya and Soma Kriya – Return life energy from the lower centers to the higher ones and heal structures at the cellular level.

Progressive Techniques (Mahamudra, Guru Pranam, Jyoti Mudra) – Sacred methods that activate the central channel and bring subtle programs under control.

Where the Techniques Are Studied

For the systematic mastery of Kriya techniques, we offer Basic Meditation Course (online)
This is a system of 18 techniques for independent, regular practice at home. The program includes: basic methods, tools for concentration and brain activation, breathing practices, and advanced work with energy centers.

How to Be an Observer During Practice

After online meditations with Master, many of you share that “it’s difficult to imagine yourself as the observer” or “it’s unclear how to be an observer.”

Often, the mistake is to try to visualise oneself from the outside, or to search for an “object” to observe. At the retreat satsang, Master Imram gave a deeper explanation of this process: “We observe those who speak, those who hear, those who meditate. We are watching the watcher.

It is important not to focus on external form or search for answers within the thinking mind. The state of the witness is not an image of “yourself from the outside,” but the recognition of formless presence.

➡️ Watch the video clip to refine your inner meditation practice and join Imram’s online group meditations every Saturday at 10am, London and New York time.

Be the observer.

Shambhavi Mudra: “Divine Gates” and the Science of Concentration

Within the Kriya tradition, Shambhavi Mudra holds a special place — it’s a technique that Master Imram refers to as the “divine gates.” It is not merely a position of the eyes but a precise method for shifting awareness from the outer world to the inner source.

The practice of Shambhavi leads to the realisation of non-duality — a state in which individual consciousness merges with Cosmic Consciousness.

From a neurophysiological perspective, this mudra works through the direct connection between the optic nerves and the medulla oblongata.

·        Stimulation of the spiritual centre: consciously maintaining an upward gaze “elongates” the optic nerves and awakens the medulla oblongata.
·        Rewiring patterns: during practice, new neural pathways are formed within the medulla oblongata, making it possible to transform deeply ingrained habits.
·        Activation of the right brain: Shambhavi Mudra encourages greater engagement of the right brain, associated with intuitive perception and connection with the divine aspect.
·        Energy magnetism: the technique helps accumulate energy, returning 90% of what is normally dissipated through the visual system back into the “Divine Cave.”

Master Imram emphasises that only human beings can consciously raise their gaze to the spiritual centre — animals do not possess this mechanism at either the physiological or chakra level. For this reason, Shambhavi Mudra is regarded as an important tool for the accelerated evolution of consciousness.

How to Begin Practising

For the safe and effective study of Shambhavi Mudra and other techniques of the Science of Kriya, we offer a Basic (online) course of Kriya meditation. An ideal option for those who are currently unable to attend an in-person seminar. The course includes 18 foundational techniques, including two variations of Shambhavi Mudra — from the basic setup to more advanced practice. Follow the link to learn more

FACTS About Imram You May Not Know

Early Years: Imram recalls experiences from a very early age. At around the age of three, he survived a coma caused by a reaction to penicillin, during which he consciously left his body. The experience left him with a lasting awareness that a person is far more than a physical body.

Martial Arts Master: From his youth until his initiation into Kriya, Imram studied the internal styles of Chinese wushu — taijiquan, baguazhang and xingyiquan — viewing them as both a philosophy of life and an “alchemy of the body in motion.” During his military service, he continued practising yoga and wushu, even in temperatures as low as –40°C.

Practice: Imram continues to strengthen and develop his body every day through Kriya pranayamas and energisation practices. He places great importance on breathing techniques as a means of self-regulation and preserving life force.

Minimal Need for Sleep and Food: Master practises 24/7, maintaining a state of awareness and dedicating every action to the Highest and to self-development. His sleep is reduced to the necessary minimum, and his diet consists of a single vegetarian meal a day. This way of life has emerged through many years of discipline and dedicated practice.

Where Science Meets Yoga: Imram holds qualifications in Eastern medicine and psychology. He worked as a doctor’s assistant and taught bioenergetics and reflexology at the Faculty of Eastern Medicine of the Dagestan Medical Academy, explaining multidimensional processes through anatomy and physiology.

Music as a Tool for Transformation: Imram is a professional musician and composer. His music is more than an art form; it is also a means of inducing emotional and meditative states. He incorporates specific frequencies and digital codes into his compositions to convey deeper meaning.

Complete Non-Violence (Ahimsa): Imram has completely eliminated animal products from his diet and follows the principles of non-violence and respect for all living beings.

The Path of Equality: Imram does not present himself as a Master. He often says that he is simply someone who “did not live like many others” — practising while others rested. Today, he shares the techniques of Kriya Yoga, viewing it as a universal science that helps people evolve more rapidly.

Imram’s life story is not a collection of remarkable facts but evidence of what becomes possible when a person chooses the path of conscious self-development. Kriya is not a theory — it is a living experience that Imram shares in every video.

Prayer and Meditation — What Sets Them Apart, and What Connects Them?

During the Week of Morning Practices, participants asked about the relationship between prayer and meditation. Master Imram offers a profound explanation of these two states.

According to the sacred Science of Kriya, they are two aspects of a single process of attunement to the Primary Source. The difference comes down to where attention is focused and how active the inner processes are.

Prayer is an active state involving the mind, emotions, and body. It is an earnest, heartfelt appeal in which a person channels their impulse towards a Higher Power through feeling and will.
Meditation (Kriya’s scientific concentration) is a state beyond the mind, the senses and the body’s habitual responses. In this state, personal effort falls away and silence arises — a silence in which the presence of the Creator is revealed.

Master explains that prayer is the foundation. As prayer deepens, it naturally unfolds into meditation. At this point, the distance between the personality and the Higher Self becomes minimal, and the mental and emotional planes come into complete harmony.

From a scientific perspective, this process may be understood as the transmission of high-frequency information and energy, experienced by the brain as profound inner understanding and complete certainty.

🔸For those seeking deeper self-exploration, we’ve prepared a playlist in which Master Imram answers questions about spiritual practice and the role of prayer and meditation in a person’s life

Maintain deep concentration.
