Kriya meditation at home: beginner to advanced
Correct body posture
-
It is recommended that you wear loose-fitting, light-coloured clothing before starting a meditation.Your clothing should be comfortable, relax-fitting, and not distract you during practice.
-
Sit in any comfortable position with your legs crossed. This can be Sukhasana, semi-lotus or lotus position, etc.If you find it difficult to sit cross-legged, you can also sit on a chair, ottoman or soft cushion...
-
It is important to keep your spine straight and that's enough to started with. Your body is relaxed, lower back is relaxed.
-
Close your eyes, direct your gaze slightly upwards, and look through the centre of your forehead. o not strain your eyes too much, you should feel comfortable. If you grow tired, lower your eyes, relax, rest them for a bit, then return to the starting position (the eyes always gaze through the centre of the forehead during practice).
-
Draw your tongue back, pressing it against the upper palate of your mouth. You should feel comfortable and able do it without too much effort. Do not stress if your tongue gets tired, return it to the starting position, rest, and continue practising (the tongue should always be drawn back during practice).

Get access to all 4 Kriya meditations with Master Imram.
How does one train oneself to meditate regularly?
You must express your intention and say to yourself, “For 21 days, I will practise morning and evening.” It takes 21 days for a person to get into the rhythm of practice, from this moment on, your will becomes more manifested, and you can move forward calmly.
Intent to achieve your goal
If you have difficulties with the outer world or social life, you want to practise, but you can’t do it… This indicates that you haven’t made up your mind internally, you haven’t really expressed your intention.
Your task is to decisively declare into the space, within yourself, that from this moment on you have embarked on the journey of spiritual transformation and your goal is the highest goal of self-realisation, knowledge of Self… Then your whole life will be adjusting to the achievement of this goal.
Everything you need to achieve this goal will be given by the universe itself, you can be sure that you will receive the necessary amount of knowledge, opportunities and means – only your aspiration and nothing else is required.
Kriya seminar – why is it important?
The seminar is a fairly social term. In reality, the Kriya Seminar is initiation into the Science of Kriya yoga.
When you attend a 2-day Kriya Seminar, you gain knowledge and food for the mind. But the most important thing is that a person receives true knowledge passed from one heart to another, from the Master to the disciple.
A Master who has true knowledge and personal experience of Unity can transmit this Knowledge directly. And this knowledge is then unfolded. No matter at what level of consciousness a person is, if they have come to the Seminar, the Master can inspire them, awaken the qualities inside and set them alight…
To alight towards spiritual development, creativity and “Ever New Joy” … In a way, it is the resurrection of the Soul or its awakening from sleep. From the sleep of ignorance, or from what is called the state of oblivion. All this happens at the Seminar. See Kriya Seminar

Kriya-nidra is a technique of deep relaxation and immersion into yourself
Weekly online meditation
Course Kriya-nidra
Going beyond conventional thinking
Kriya-nidra is a conscious immersion into the self, into the deepest state. It is not a dream. It maybe a sleep for the mind and body, but the consciousness must remain awake. This practice is useful in that it allows a person to go beyond the usual, habitual line of thinking.
In everyday life, a person is always in an active phase, their mind is jumping from one thing to another. They are constantly trying to understand something, all the time creating waves, that waste energy and life force.
Yoga-nidra is a general concept. In Kriya-nidra, «Kriya» is an action. The action that you create at the moment of self-immersion is much more important and more effective than simply relaxing the body, as is done in shavasana or in yoga-nidra.

Basic Kriya meditation course
What is meditation?
Meditation is a state beyond the mind, the personality and the ego. It is a state that allows us to get to know ourselves first, become friends with ourselves, and reach higher levels of self-awareness.
Meditation is a state when you are very close to the Creator, the Supreme. But there is a distance between you and the Higher Self to which you aspire.
An analogy with a fire can serve as an example. Meditation is when you are sitting around a fire, but you cannot get close to it, because you are not yet ready. You enjoy the warmth and love of this divine radiance, you feel warm, happy and comfortable, you are close to it and have the opportunity to enjoy it.
Enjoying and rejoicing in it is meditation. Moreover, the Creator’s radiance constantly gives you what you so desperately need. In the case of the fire, it is warmth, in the case of divinity, it is unconditional love, strength, wisdom, peace, and everything that comes with it. It is perfection, magic… And it changes you.
Meditation is a state in which you begin to possess what your meditation is directed at. When your possession becomes a more intense experience, and you nourish yourself, love grows bigger and bigger, and you are ready to dissolve in it, then does the transcendental state of Samadhi descend.
The basic course enables you to
-
Enter into a prayerful and meditative state
Attunement to the Higher inside yourself, and the perception of subtle material processes for greater awareness. -
Magnetise the body structures
Activating the life force in the physical, ethero-astral and mental bodies for magnetisation of the subtle structures at all levels, to awaken in the Cosmic Consciousness. -
Activate the medulla oblongata (ajna chakra)
This is necessary for the subtle structures of the transcendental power entering the temple body, energising the structures of the bodies, to awaken the nerve endings (the cell consciousness) for greater injection of the vital force or Prana. -
Enter a state of controlling the life force
During practice, a person comprehending the life force Prana and observing the effects of it, can learn how to understand and, eventually, manage these processes to stop all changes (i. e., slow down or suspend rapid aging). This is the True Pranayama, which awakens creative forces and changes the life space. -
Awaken the spinal centres (chakras)
The knowledge embedded in everyone from Above can quickly manifest itself in the form of wisdom. By gathering the currents and the life force in these centres, by opening these centres, we get rid of karmic knots and allow the Consciousness to rise up. This is called true Ascension.
This applied approach, as an independent system, allows you to constantly feel the influx of life force into the centre of the Will and into all centres, and to multiply it at the cellular level through the energisation of all bodies.
- You are engaged in various types of yoga and spiritual practices, and strive to gain a more effective method for self-development.
- You are still searching for your way, are ready for a quick change and transition to a new level of life.
- You seek to find well-being, love, joy, happiness, inner strength, peace of mind, and to find unity with your own Higher Self.
- You are looking for a way to overcome internal problems, insecurities, mental blocks, worries and anxiety, and improve your health.
- You strive to know and understand yourself better, to have a better grip on yourself, your thoughts and you inner state, to gain control over your mind.
- You want to learn concentration and meditation in order to reach your high goal, and are ready to make the necessary efforts to get there.

Frequently asked questions
Most people think that a yogi is a person who has developed his body’s abilities to an amazing degree: he can lie on nails, walk on fire or sit in the lotus position… But the main thing in yoga is the spiritual aspect. The Principle of Unity!
Therefore, it is important to first correct people’s misconception of Yoga.
Yoga is the direct Path to the HIgher. I declare this with full awareness and understanding of responsibility. Yoga is a reunion with the Supreme! It is the most direct and shortest way to self-realisation. Yoga is not a religion. It is a science in which the Ultimate Knowledge, from which various systems and directions have emerged, is revealed.
Kriya Yoga is a tool that allows a person to accelerate their evolution. Kriya is the ultimate method of comprehending the Law of the Universe, where the true answer comes from the depths of the inner Self. The eternal and invariable Law of the Universe is expressed as Truth, Righteousness, Unconditional Love, Peace and Calm, and Non-violence. The Science of Kriya is this Universal Law in action.
Посредством этой практики интуиция пробуждается без следа, и вам может быть поручено лицо встретиться со своим Высшим Я.
Through this practice, intuition is effortlessly awakened, and you can gaze into the face of your Higher Self.
Kriya Yoga teaches us how to control the breathing, calm the mind and achieve higher states of consciousness.
Fifty minutes of Kriya practice is equivalent to one hundred years of natural human evolution…

Anyone who knows nothing about Kriya but truly wants to practise, wants to do something for one’s life, for oneself and others, can safely start practising.
Your level of preparation is not important. The Science of Kriya transforms the body and makes you more prepared. If we say that a person needs to be prepared, then this knowledge is not universally applicable. Preparation is needed when you take an exam. Now, we practise, and awaken the will by working on ourselves.
The Science of Kriya is not a teaching about the body like hatha yoga, there is no emphasis on sitting cross-legged, in the lotus or half-lotus position.
Here, it is very important that your spine is straight, and during the practice at the Retreat, you can even sit on a chair or a small ottoman, which will allow you to keep your spine straight. This would be enough. Remember that all realisation takes place in the spine, the brain and the spinal cord. It does not happen in the legs or arms.
No matter how old you are, even if you are eighty or a hundred years old, if you start practising Kriya and address the Supreme in Spirit with a request for realisation, you will be given additional years for realisation. From the moment a person steps on the Path, a space of time opens up for achieving the High Goal, so this person will grow stronger and be able to carry out their plans!
For me, Kriya is Cosmic knowledge, it is the manifestation of the Creator in knowledge, so even if you come to this for the first time at the age of 80, you will reach realisation much faster.
I met an 85-year-old grandfather at a seminar in Perm, who was much more active than everyone else in the hall. He came up to me during the break and asked: “Can an old man like me achieve liberation?” “Of course you can, don’t even hesitate…”
“There’s a law: everything you encounter in this life is meant for you.” So do not doubt. Simply start working on yourself.

This is a method of direct knowledge transfer.
When you come to a Kriya Seminar, you may be completely unprepared, not ready to sit, and not ready internally. You attend to prepare and accelerate your evolution. Evolution is accelerated many hundreds of thousands of times only thanks to this great and high teaching. Naturally, your body changes as well. It changes when you practise. The criterion of truth is practice.
Kriya is the base, the foundation and the crown of all spiritual practices!
When people come to the Retreat, we recommend wearing light-coloured or white clothing, because the white colour represents white light. Colour is very important because it affects people’s minds. White colour unites all colours and white is something that is symbolically perceived by consciousness, not only by the individual, but also by others as a spiritual colour.
If you do not have any white clothing, other light colours will do, but nothing sad or mournful like black. There is actually no black in nature. Black is an artificial colour. By and large, even coal, which is considered to be black in colour, is not black. If you look closely, there is Clothing should be loose, comfortable and one that does not constrain.a lot of reflection, that is, the reflection of light.
If you are a sufficiently conscious person and possess deep understanding, if you can talk about the Science of Kriya, you have enough energy and enough knowledge not to do things that harm your body. This means eating right. If you think it is difficult for you to give up eating meat and smoking cigarettes. By the way, smoking is also eating, but of a slightly differen nature. If it is difficult for you, start practising Kriya and the practice itself will pull you out of it. If a person wants to understand their own world, their inner world, they gradually become a vegetarian.
We recommend that you start by reading Paramahansa Yogananda’s Autobiography of a Yogi. Paramahansa Yogananda, the great Indian yogi and educator who brought Kriya to America and Europe, wrote the following in his book Autobiography of a Yogi, Chapter 26: The Science of Kriya Yoga:
“Kriya Yoga is a simple, psychophysiological method by which the human blood is decarbonized and recharged with oxygen. These extra atoms of oxygen are transmuted in a human being into a life current that rejuvenates the brain and spinal centres. By stopping the accumulation of venous blood in the body, the yogi is able to lessen or prevent the decay of tissues.”
“Kriya Yoga is an instrument that enables a person to accelerate their evolution,” – Sri Yukteswar explained to his students. “The yogis of ancient times discovered that the secret of Cosmic Consciousness is intimately linked with breath mastery. This is India’s unique and everlasting contribution to the world’s treasury of knowledge. The life force, which is ordinarily involved in maintaining the heart-pump, must be freed for higher activities by a method of calming and stilling the ceaseless demands of the breath.”
The Kriya Yogi uses the power of thought to direct his life force to move up and down along the six spinal centres (medulla, cervical, dorsal, lumbar, sacral, and coccygeal plexuses) which correspond to the twelve astral signs of the zodiac, the symbolic Cosmic Man. Even half a minute of revolution of energy around a man’s sensitive spinal cord causes subtle progress in his evolution. That half-minute of Kriya equals one year of natural spiritual development.
The astral system of a human being, with six (twelve by polarity) inner constellations revolving around the sun of the omniscient spiritual eye, is deeply interrelated with the physical sun and the twelve signs of the zodiac. Everyone is thus affected by an inner and an outer universe. The ancient rishis discovered that man’s earthly and heavenly environment push him along some kind of natural path of spiritual development, which comes in a sequence of twelve-year cycles. The scriptures state that under favourable conditions, a person requires a million years of normal, healthy evolution to fully develop their human brain enough to express the Cosmic Consciousness.
In eight hours, a person can make a thousand Kriyas, which enables them to go through a thousand-year path of natural evolutionary development in one day. In one year, this will be equivalent to 365,000 years of evolution. Thus, in three years of conscious effort, the Kriya Yogi can achieve the same results that Nature gives a person a million years to achieve. Of course, only advanced yogis can significantly shorten their path using the method of Kriya Yoga. At first, under the guidance of a guru, they carefully prepare their bodies and minds to receive the colossal energies generated through intensive practice. The Kriya beginner does 14 to 28 yogic exercises, twice a day. A number of yogis achieve liberation in 6, 12, 24, or 48 years.
The body of an ordinary person is like a fifty-watt light bulb that is not able to pass through itself the billions of watts of energy awakened by constant Kriya Yoga practice. However, the safe Kriya method proposes gradual and regular increases in the load, so that a person’s body undergoes astral transformation on a daily basis and can eventually express the infinite potential of cosmic energy, which represents the first materially active expression of the Spirit.
Kriya Yoga has nothing in common with the unscientific breathing exercises taught by a number of misguided zealots. Their attempts to forcibly hold breath in the lungs is not only unnatural, but very unpleasant. Kriya, on the other hand, will bring you peace and a blissful sensation from the very beginning that accompanies the regenerative processes in the spine. This ancient yogic technique turns the breath into the material of the mind. Spiritual progress enables a person to come to know breathing as a mental phenomenon, as an act of the mind, as a dream.
There are many examples of the mathematical relationship between a person’s breathing rate and changes in their state of consciousness. A person whose attention is wholly engrossed, as in following some closely knit intellectual argument, or in attempting some delicate or difficult physical feat, automatically breathes very slowly. A person’s attention span depends on their speed of breathing. Quick or uneven breaths are an inevitable accompaniment of harmful emotional states: fear, lust, and anger. The restless monkey breathes at the rate of 32 times a minute, in contrast to man’s average of 18 times. The elephant, tortoise, snake and other animals noted for their longevity have a respiratory rate which is less than man’s. The tortoise, for instance, who may attain the age of 300 years, breathes only 4 times per minute.
Kriya Seminar
Two days of intensive practice
The seminar is a fairly social term. In reality, the Kriya Seminar is initiation into the Science of Kriya Yoga. When you attend a 2-day Kriya Seminar, you gain knowledge and food for thought.
But the most important thing is that a person receives true knowledge passed from one heart to another, from the Master to the disciple.
When you come to a Kriya Seminar, you may be completely unprepared. Not ready to sit, not prepared inwardly. You attend to get ready and accelerate your evolution.
Evolution is accelerated many hundreds of thousands of times only thanks to this great and high teaching. Naturally, your body changes. It changes when you practise. The criterion of truth is practice
Science of Kriya
In Kriya practice, by energising each cell and the special centres, focusing on the medulla oblongata, we awaken the neurons and regions of our brain.
We are then able to accept and absorb more energy-information and Higher Knowledge beyond ordinary understanding.
Over time, as we learn to feel the very subtle channels inside the spine, we shall approach the High Kriya Techniques.
During the Highest Kriya practice: one conscious breath is equal to one year of your evolution, which corresponds to our solar system’s cosmic cycle of rotation, with its planetary consciousness.
The Kriya method of Master Imram
- A compelling explanation of the essence, principles and techniques of Kriya, as a link between the scientific, metaphysical and spiritual.
- Convenient and clear delivery of information,
method suitable for people with any level of preparation. - Kriya is delivered by direct transmission in its original, non-distorted form. This is an intensive practice that awakens the Knowledge, given to us from Above since birth.
- The method allows you to increase strength and concentration, awakens neural connections, activates creative energies and effortlessly awakens intuition.
- During the 2-day seminar, 6 of the 7 stages of Kriya are relayed in the form of a streamlined and proven system, where the secret keys of Kriya are revealed.
- You will also get access to the Imram Kriya education platform, with audio and video materials for self-practice.
Six Stages of Self-Realisation
During the 2-day Imram Kriya Seminar, a person receives the six stages of Kriya. The first three stages are associated with body energisation. These are standing energisation exercises (42 Kriyas), sitting energisation practice, breathing meditation, sound meditation, and light meditation.
Advanced techniques
The advanced Kriya techniques: Maha Mudra, Guru Pranam, Jyoti Mudra and Paravastha are given by Master only at the Kriya Seminar through Initiation.
They are introduced gradually over two days because this is quite a serious process.
In the book The Essence of Kriya Yoga by Paramahansa Yogananda it is written that the time of human development can be shortened by making the life force (the physical energy of Earth) rotate in the spine and its six spinal centres along an elliptical curve, up from the base of the spine to the point between the eyebrows, and then down again from this point to the base of the spine, with the soul as the central sun.”
The advanced techniques gradually prepare a person for the super techniques, and the Kriya super technique is a single breath that takes thirty seconds of your time but is equal to one year of your evolution. Consider what you can accomplish in terms of spiritual development in twenty years. Just 10 minutes of conscious practice of the Kriya super technique can result in 20 years of evolution.
Vessel of transcendental power
The Science of Kriya allows your spine to be made into a conscious, thinking substance, similar to the brain. Eventually, your spine will become an extension of your brain.
When our neurons become very active, we gradually become aware of impulses transmitted from the brain to the periphery and back through the response system.
At the end of the Seminar’s second day, Master Imram spends several hours passing on secret Knowledge contained in the Theory of the Transcendental Vessel.
