There was this vocal and instrumental ensemble “Nasledniki”, which means “Heirs” at the Palace of Pioneers in Makhachkala. I was accepted there right away. I came there, they tested me, and I immediately played everything they wanted. By ear, of course. It’s very easy. This is how my pop-music life began. Minor tours, constant performances… I played Ionika electronic piano. Back then there were no keyboards, there were Ionikas. Yunost-72, Yunost-75… The musicians who are watching this know what I’m talking about. The first so-called electronic, electric instruments. You nearly had to wear rubber gloves to play them. I’m kidding, of course.”
