What is a Retreat?

A retreat presents a wonderful opportunity to accumulate energy, gain knowledge, direct the mind where it is most needed, and form new neural pathways rooted in goodness.

Imram

Imagine more than 400 people practising together, receiving wisdom from Imram and Khadija, undergoing profound inner transformations, and discovering answers to their most compelling questions.

A retreat is not simply an event — it is a powerful catalyst on the path of self-discovery and the conscious shaping of one’s reality.⠀

This autumn, the retreat in Turkey will take place on the Mediterranean coast, set against the breathtaking backdrop of the Taurus Mountains. It is a rare opportunity to rest deeply and restore your strength among people for whom Kriya Yoga is a way of life.⠀

Each retreat has its own unique character, yet all share the same spirit: a warm community of like-minded seekers and an atmosphere that inspires profound inner work.

Join us for the autumn retreat in Turkey!

Date: November 5-7, 2025 (Check-in: November 4!)
Venue: Kemer, Turkey

Why do we need spiritual practice

It is extremely difficult to do without spiritual practice in today’s world. The modern world is arranged so that if one does nothing, they go backwards. That is why the holy scriptures, particularly the Qur’an, say: “Two steps forward, one step back”. Why do we need that step back? For reflection, so that we don’t rush. But then two steps forward. And if a person does nothing — he takes two steps back and then one step forward, and in the end, he goes backwards.

Imram

In the article “Why do we need spiritual practice”, Imram discusses how spiritual practice transforms a person and answers the following questions:

• Is it acceptable to skip practice?
• Are there differences between spiritual practices for men and women?
• How does the Kriya method work?

Kriya is a scientific method

What is meditation? Some people find it intimidating. Sometimes I am asked, “Won’t my faith dwindle if I practise Kriya?” They could be Muslim or Christian, for example. Of course, not. Because this is not a religion. Kriya is a science that enables you to awaken your innate qualities and raise your consciousness to a very high level. You can engage in a faithful practice without needing to forsake your religion.

HOW TO REMOVE A NEGATIVE PROGRAMME IN A CHILD?

Parenting is not about enforcing a programme on your children. Parenting involves allowing them to be themselves. If negative aspects emerge when they express themselves, it’s crucial to redirect the child’s focus towards positive activities, engaging them in interesting pursuits while disregarding those negative aspects. This requires patience, this requires time, this requires effort. However, the neural networks formed by a negative programme will disintegrate. Because you will fill their life with interest. Yes, you may have to make compromises. Avoid compelling them to unquestionably obey your commands. This is destructive. This won’t reprogramme them. It will only block their programmes rather than transform them. Transformation requires patience and time.

WHAT QUALITIES ARE AWAKENED THROUGH THE PRACTICE OF KRIYA?

The most crucial superpower is the ability to maintain patience when someone is being rude towards you. Is this easy in today’s world? Won’t the human ego rebel in this situation? Initially, it triggers a lot of aggression that can lead to various societal problems. If one remains calm and handles the situation appropriately… For example, they can assimilate the provided information and draw conclusions without emitting aggression. Egos compel individuals to emit significant aggression, fuelling negative trends capable of reshaping the world.

How to achieve peace in the hustle and bustle of daily life?

Let’s say we’re working and working and working, so when should we do spiritual practice? If we have a daily schedule, everything is planned from morning to night, but when should we live? Just live, enjoy life. So we need to change our attitude. Changing attitude means I am not practicing Kriya Yoga to achieve and then live a real life. I am practicing Kriya Yoga to enjoy, to realize the presence of the Highest in every moment.

We are practicing the presence of the Creator from our toes to our head. That is the main concept. And everything that happens to us is the good of His presence. All is for the absolute good. This happens when we understand the principle of how everything works. First of all, this is my personal experience. I know how it works. I really want you to achieve this. Because it will make you happy, at least at peace.
